Taking screenshots with Ubuntu
No extra program is needed to take screenshots with Ubuntu. Ive seen lots of weird programs for taking screenshots in my life, but one thing i seam to not understand is why people install screenshot managers to take screenshots in Ubuntu. Ubuntu has more than sufficient screenshot capabilities installed by default. Now some might have special need for customization, but that is a different story.
Screenshot of the entire screen
Taking the simple screenshot of the entire screen is one of the easiest tasks. On the keyboard you will find a key called “print screen” or “Prt sc” or other similar shortening of print screen. Click the button and your screenshot is ready. It should look like this:
If you want to take a screenshot of the current window you can use “alt+prt sc”. The window that comes up will be the same but it will only contain the current window.
Other ways of taking a screenshot:
Click Unity button(windows key) -> Take screenshot then select your options.
Now a small tip: While compiz effects is on the windows fades out about 0.2 seconds so if you don’t add a delay (say 1 second) you will get the screenshot window half faded on your screenshot. Ergo: Add a second delay if this is the case.

I use ‘Alt+Prnt Scrn’ to take screenshot of a single window.
